The HAHNESTERY
Originally built by Henry Hahn in 1889 after he had won this 1000 acre plot of land in a card game. The land is temperate rain forest located just a few miles inland from the Pacific coastline. It rains a lot here. Generations of Hahn's have lived in it ever since.
Someone once remarked that the isolation of this house reminded them of a monastery -- a 'Hahnestery'.
The name stuck. 'Hahnestery' became an everyday word in Hahn family conversation.
